About Maya Time

Maya Time is an independent project and a quiet, respectful doorway into Maya sacred-time reflection. It invites you to look at your birthday and at today through the lens of a living calendar still kept in the highlands of Guatemala. Website-first, in German and English, made for pausing, not for predicting.

Why this exists

The intention behind Maya Time is simple: to offer a clear, honest way into Maya sacred time that neither mystifies nor appropriates. Much of what circulates online blends sources, invents meanings, or promises to read your future. We wanted to do it differently.

This is about reflection, not fortune-telling. The count has been kept for centuries in the K'iche' highlands by real daykeepers. We are not among them, and we do not claim to speak in their role. What we offer is a careful window onto this knowledge and an invitation to give yourself some time to reflect.

How we work

Maya Time has two clearly separated layers. The first is the calculation layer: the calendar mathematics that maps your date onto a nawal and a number in the Maya day-count. This calculation is verified and follows traceable, documented rules. There is no guessing here.

The second is the interpretive layer: short, invitational readings of each day's energies. They are written freshly in our own voice and rooted in the day energies of the K'iche' tradition. We keep the two layers apart on purpose, so you can always tell what is settled mathematics and what is open reflection. Where we cannot ground something, we stay general rather than claim it.

What it is and what it is not

Maya Time is a tool for reflection. A day's energies can invite you, nudge you, colour a mood. They do not dictate anything, and they do not tell you who you are or what will happen.

It is explicitly not advice, not divination, and not a substitute for medical, therapeutic, or psychological care. If you need support with such matters, please turn to the people trained to give it.

And it is not the voice of the K'iche' tradition itself. We hold Maya Time as a respectful bridge to a living calendar, offered with humility and in the awareness that the knowledge itself belongs to the daykeepers of the highlands.

Where Maya Time is meant to grow

Maya Time is meant to become a quiet personal space: for daily guidance, birth energy, power days, life phases, relationships and a journal. Not a fixed answer, but a recurring mirror for more conscious days, clearer decisions and deeper self-awareness.

We build it website-first and carefully: a few things that truly carry, rather than many that only impress. In the end you should not feel that you used a website, but that you had a moment with yourself.

Maya Time is a tool for reflection, not fortune-telling, and not medical or psychological advice.
