Maya Time is an invitation to look at your birth and at today through the lens of an old way of counting time. From your birth date we work out your birth energy in a 260-day sacred count, and we lay a calm, interpretive reading over it. You get no verdict and no prediction, just a few images and open questions to carry your own thinking forward.

No. We do not foretell your future, and we do not read from the positions of planets. The energies here cause nothing, guarantee nothing, and fix nothing about your life. They incline, colour, and invite. Think of it as a mirror to reflect in, not a prophecy. Whatever you recognise in it is yours.

The Maya day-count is a sacred count of 260 days, woven from 20 day-signs (nawales) and 13 numbers. It does not measure the solar year; it tracks its own rhythm of daily qualities. In the living K'iche' highland tradition of Guatemala, daykeepers still keep it today. Your birth energy is simply the day you fall on within this count.

Not quite. What many people picture is the famous Long Count with its long spans of time, or the Aztec calendar stone, which is its own Mesoamerican system. We work with the 260-day Maya count. Different Maya peoples keep different counts with their own names and meanings, which is why we never speak of the one Maya calendar.

Because we follow one particular living tradition, the K'iche' highlands of Guatemala, where this count is still kept. There the day-signs carry names such as Iq', Aq'ab'al, K'at, Q'anil, Tz'i, B'atz, E', Tz'ikin and No'j. We use those names to be precise and to honour where this comes from, rather than blurring everything into a generic Maya label.

The calculations follow the accepted method for this count and are checked against several independent sources. The interpretive readings are rooted in the living K'iche' highland tradition, retold in our own warmer voice. Where a tradition carries no settled meaning, we would rather stay general than invent something.

Nothing ended. On 21 December 2012 the Long Count reached the round mark 13.0.0.0.0, the day 4 Ajaw, and a great cycle closed, what is called a b'ak'tun. Much as a counter rolls over at New Year, the next stretch simply began. It was a cycle completing, not the end of the world. The popular doomsday story did not come from the tradition itself.
